THE MALVERN STORY

By Jan Kellett

Malvern is a 900-year-old English town with beginnings as a Medieval Priory. This is the history of that fascinating town. Jan Kellett is a book restorer and conservator in England, and has designed a binding which dates back to the origins of Malvern. It is sewn on linen cords laced into the boards. It has a traditional appearance suited to the subject.

There are marbled end papers with leather hinges to add strength and beauty, and 6 hand colored illustrations and 1 black and white. Also a fold-out map of the area. It has hand sewn silk headbands and full leather binding with gilded spine and covers. This miniature, 2 1/4 X 2 3/4 inches, 104 pages, is contained in a beautiful slip case. This is an edition of 50 signed and numbered copies.

THE MALVERN STORY was exhibited at the MBS Conclave in San Francisco in 1996, and was selected for a Distinguished Book Award. It is now with the MBS Traveling Exhibition.
