The output from the Cinderella project is not going to be fully structured right up front, unlike those Soldiers who Spring from the ground Fully Armed when Dragons Teeth are sown. It will be more like Topsy who "just growed".
So please be patient if things you have seen already are repeated or altered or bear no relation to things that have previously been written in stone.
Users should classify their system requirements in the context of the reality of their unique environment according to the following:
Y2k Cinderella Object Classes:Cinderella status start with Class 2. Anything above Class 4 is mainstream, and not a Cinderella candidate.
Class 0 - no date requirements
Class 1 - manageable date problem, existing solutions
Class 2 - uncertainty with some applications
Class 3 - uncertainty and massive volume
Class 4 - All of the above, plus Economic restraints
to mainstream options.
Non-standard unique approach needed
Cinderella needs to have a somewhat relaxed definition of "Compliance".
The basic objective is to come us close as possible to the ISO where possible, failing which a reasonable compromise which will allow the system to work without failure or corruption of data must be reached.
Zero is good and means generally compliant with ISO/ANSI/FIPS, higher numbers reflect progressively worse levels, until finally "Unacceptable" is attained.
The code for Unacceptable is '9'. (A gentle play on the German word for "No".) Unacceptable means start looking to replace this program with something that works.
