I began my acupuncture treatments with Meredith after two years of unsuccessful fertility treatments. I must admit that I was skeptical but heard that acupuncture helped to increase the chance of pregnancy, so I figured that I would give it a try.
I was skeptical before my first appointment and almost didn't go but I did and I am so glad that I did. This particular fertility round was approximately 8 weeks and I had acupuncture during that period. I did get pregnant that cycle and I remember my fertility specialist saying that it was a perfect cycle. I do believe I wouldn't have my beautiful little miracle without Meredith's help. I only wish I had started sooner.
And to add to the benefits of acupuncture, I noticed minor aches and pains faded and my mood was much better than it was during previous cycles. I did physical therapy for 6 months for a bad knee but just a few weeks of acupuncture made it feel so much better.

After my first acupuncture treatment, the painful urgency to urinate disappeared and it has never returned. I was astonished because this was not the original purpose for pursuing acupuncture. Now when I have the urge to urinate, I can hold it comfortably and am able to control it.

I also got pregnant with Meredith's help. When my husband and I decided to try she started doing fertility points for me. I was pregnant in 2 months. Granted, I was healthy, but I was 33 and under enormous amounts of stress (did I mention my absolutely wicked boss and miserable job?), and am convinced the acupuncture helped prompt my system conceive and maintain a healthy pregnancy. But treatments didn't stop once we succeeded. There was nausea to deal with and feeling tired all the time and worrying whether everything would work out all right. She had points for it all. And that one on the very top of my head - that was awesome. Feel-good central! Later on, there were also mornings I would wake up and could barely walk for my daughter's positioning (she LOVED to press her feet up against my spine). Multiple hot showers and massages later, I was rarely much better. Until I went in. Meredith was excellent at fitting me in those days and I always left pain-free. And I mean completely, absolutely, 100% pain-free!
I can honestly say, without hesitation or reservation, that if I still lived in the area, I would still be seeing Meredith for treatment. Even though all is well, I am a definite believer that acupuncture can only make things better. Seems the Orient has had it right all along!
Make your appointment! Come in! For those budget-consciousness like me, please believe me when I say it is worth every penny and is one of the best investments you could make. You won't regret it!"

I have always have a deep respect for TCM and acupuncture. I was so happy to find someone that did acupuncture close to where I lived. I have traveled as far as China to have chinese doctors work with me. This is much easier!
When I came to see Meredith I was taking the antidepressant Lexpro for anxiety and panic attacks. I also had some depression. Some days were so bad I could not leave the house. I would have to call off from work and I would lay in bed and just cry. I was missing out on so much of my life. I wasn't seeing my friends. I stopped working out and doing other things I enjoyed. This lasted a very long time and I really feel I have lost out on a few years of my life.
I have always believed that the body can heal it's self, sometimes it just needs a little help in the right direction. The lexapro I was taking was helping with the panic attacks, but the side effects were almost worst then the attacks themselves. I knew I had to find a better way. I could not take this medicine for the rest of my life.
After my second appointment with Meredith I was able to slowly start to cut down on the lexapro and wean myself off of it. I had no withdrawal symptoms that people sometimes get. I believe this is because of the acupuncture. Now I'm off the lexapro and feeling great! I have no more side effects and no more panic attacks. I can feel my body slowly coming back into balance again, which has always been the goal for me.
I am very happy with the treatment I have gotten with Meredith and continue to see her. I was in really bad shape, so if you have ever felt this way, make an appointment. It could change your life!

Within the first month of acupuncture treatments I was able to see a marked reduction in my PMDD (form of PMS) symptoms and cut my medication from 10+ days a month down to 2-3 days. After 4 months the symptoms have continued to abate and I still only need medication 2-3 days a month. It has been miracle for my worsening PMDD and even my migraines are fewer in number and immediately fixed with the treatments. Thanks Meredith.

"I developed Costochondritis due to a Tennis injury and this is the inflammation of the upper ribs and I went to the ER thinking it was a Heart attack it was stabbing pain. But once they diagnosed it as Costo They only solution was to let it heal in its own course.
But I tried Acupuncture with Meredith and I was feeling perfectly normal after a couple of sessions Acupuncture worked great for me and for such a painful and inconvenient condition."
Thanks,

"I suffered with my first migraine around eight. Then, no one knew what it was or how to handle it -- St. Joseph's Aspirin for children and bed rest. The second one was a few years later - same treatment. I didn’t get any more until my mid-twenties then they became almost constant. At this point they were defined as tension migraines. I was given prescription Motrin 800Mg., Fiorenol and Fioricet for the pain, Naproxen to relax my tense muscles and some anti-depressant (the name of which I cannot recall). I still suffered.
Then came the sinus surgery, guaranteed to cure my migraines. Guess what, I still had migraines (although admittedly I could breathe better).
Three neurologists later, countless diets including those with no alcohol, no chocolate, no cheese then no dairy whatsoever, more pain meds - Esgic-Plus, Tylenol with Codeine, Fioricet with Codeine, Hydrocodone/Vicodan, Excedrin Migraine, trials of Inderol, two more anti-depressants (labeled as migraine suppressors), all the new stuff including, Relpax, Amerge, Imitrex, Maxalt, Relavert, Zomig, and others I cannot remember and to numerous to mention, a "Headache Specialist" at Jefferson and a script of Topomax (which nearly caused my death) and took me two weeks to "step down" from and three months to get out of my system.
Another doctor with a suggestion of more "mind altering anti-seizure medications" like Neurontin (which had a website dedicated to those who died or maimed themselves on it) and I said enough. I stopped taking everything.
I have been poked and prodded, operated on had enough CAT scans and MRIs to personally know the location of every blood vessel in my brain (and U.B.O. "Unidentified Bright Object"). Bottom line on all testing I suffered from migraines - duh!
I had missed so much work I was in jeopardy of losing my job, I also missed out on a great portion of my life! My migraines were indiscriminant, coming on whenever and wherever they pleased. My primary trigger seemed to be the weather, which, of course, every medical professional I had seen over the course of the past 20 years said was impossible.
My boss finally told me about a friend of his who suffered from migraines. He got some relief with acupuncture treatments. I called. He said it took him six months (and twice a week) before he got any relief, but he was grateful for the relief he had gotten. He had also suffered a disabling stroke as, it is believed, a result of all the medications he was on for his migraines over the years. He is in his sixties. I am in my forties.
I mulled it over. My boss’ friend lived on the west coast, I am on the east coast. Then I got a call from a friend of mine whose podiatrist’s wife suffered from migraines and she got acupuncture and did not suffer any more. I called. I got an appointment. I got relief. In fact, after I began treatment I got two migraines and went right to Dr. Murphy for both -- I left her office with no pain. These were not "mild" migraines. One was borderline nuclear- I had taken six pain pills and as many triptans as I could without causing my heart to explode with no relief.
Admittedly, this was a "last resort" for me. I tried everything else. I wish I had just received acupuncture first, the money the time, the amount of my life I would have gotten to experience without pain?..try it. It may not work for everyone, but God, if it does...."

"It is important to me to have an acupuncturists that is caring and sensitive to my health concerns. Meredith has made me feel very comfortable and at ease during my treatments. Her office and treatment rooms are welcoming and offered me much needed solitude and serenity. After experiencing many stressful drawbacks in my reproductive health, acupuncture has helped me relax, and I’ve learned to be patient with my healing and recovery back to health. I always leave feeling relaxed and hopeful. Meredith’s treatments have also helped alleviate a chronic mid-back pain that I’ve had for 2 years now. After seeking the help of 2 orthopedic doctors, and a chiropractor, I have only experienced lasting relief with Meredith’s acupuncture treatments."

"I am 34 years old and have been living with migraines since I was six. They were mild when I was young, but as I reached high school the headaches got increasingly worse. By the time I was in college I had a headache everyday. I saw a few specialists who told me I had tension headaches that would turn into migraines. I tried several medications, including fioricet, antidepressants, topamax, neurontin, and even having lidocaine injected into the back of my head. The antidepressants didn’t help. The antiseizure medicine (topamax and neurontin) did, but I was so medicated that I couldn't function. A friend who also suffered from migraines suggested I see an acupuncturist. I thought it was crazy but I decided that after everything I had been through it was worth a shot.
I looked on the internet for practitioners in my area and found several but decided to make an appointment with Meredith Murphy, Licensed Acupuncturist, because of her credentials. I have been going to Meredith for about a year now, and the benefit has been incredible. Although I still occasionally get migraines, the frequency and severity of them have decreased dramatically. I am so happy I decided to take a chance on acupuncture and Meredith; there’s no doubt in my mind that this alternative therapy has completely changed my quality of life and would recommend it and her to anyone suffering this affliction."

"I began acupuncture treatments several years ago at my mother-in-law's suggestion. She was being treated for chemical sensitivity/allergy issues, and found that she was improving greatly. I was trying to get pregnant and was not ovulating and also had irregular menstrual cycles. The fertility clinic suggested we try invitro fertilization (IVF) and while going through this process, I was getting acupuncture treatments. I got pregnant with my daughter Jennifer (now 3-1/2 years old). When we decided we wanted more children, we didn't have a choice but to try IVF again, so I told my husband that I wanted to start acupuncture treatments again this time around. We went for that first ultrasound and found out we were having twins! Carolyn and Lindsey are now 5-1/2 months old.
IVF is so stressful, and I believe that acupuncture kept my body in balance throughout the process - physically and emotionally."

"I am a 30 year old with acute back pain, TMJ, and suffer from occasional migraines. I have heard good things about acupuncture and started to do some internet research to find a practitioner in my area. As soon as I found Meredith's website I stopped looking and immediately made an appointment. I really liked the comprehensive website that answered nearly all of my questions, and I knew if her website was so helpful, she would be too.
I just started going to Meredith less than a month ago and will be going for my third appointment later today. At first I was nervous about having small needles stuck into me, but Meredith clearly explained what she would be doing and made me feel at ease. She has great credentials as seen on her website, but also has a great personality which is evident the moment you walk into her clinic.
Acupuncture is now a regular part of my schedule and I feel it's a great way to lead a healthy, well balanced life. I recommend trying acupuncture with Meredith Murphy to anyone wanting to stay healthy naturally."
