Membership FAQ's
If I am a deck builder, what do I get for my money? NADRA provides resources to help these businesses be the best they can be. Click here for MORE
If I am a supplier to the deck industry,
Suppliers need reliable targeted market research to develop and produce
How did NADRA get started? Deck builders and product manufacturer's alike raised concerns at the 2004 DeckExpo over the compatibility of new generation wood treatments and fasteners. As a result, many realized the need for a unified industry voice. NADRA is that voice. The association is now an official not-for-profit corporation under the name of North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA).
What does NADRA do for the Industry?
NADRA helps the consumer by providing information on deck safety, design, and products through
www.nadra.org, by responding to consumer inquiries, and through public relations campaigns such as its
Deck Safety Month® Program and its Merit Award Program. These campaigns build consumer trust in
this association and its members while at the same time encouraging the outdoor living lifestyle.
Who joins NADRA? NADRA is made up of deck builders, manufacturers, dealers/distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and service providers to the deck and railing industry. By working together we can be one voice for the industry and deliver a clear message to the consumer and the code development bodies. See Find a Builder and Find a Supplier for NADRA members.
What is Deck Safety Month? In an effort to save lives and prevent injuries, the North American Deck and Railing Association, Inc. (NADRA) declared May as the first Deck Safety Month in 2006. Now in its second year, the purpose of the promotion is to increase public awareness of the necessity for regular inspection and maintenance of existing decks, and proper installation of new decks.Click here for MORE What is the Merit Award Program? The NADRA Merit Award is a public service project based on member donation of labor and materials to a deserving person or organization. The 2007 Merit Award "Deck for a Soldier" benefits a member of the U.S. armed forces returning from a tour of duty.
What is the Terry Award Program? 2007 marked the first year for the Terry Award, which was established in honor of Terry and Diann Dempsey for their tireless efforts in bringing the deck and railing industry together through DeckExpo and Professional Deck Builder Magazine. NADRA would not be here if it were not for their foundational work and devotion. The Terry Award is presented to a member of the decking industry each year at the Annual Meeting for outstanding service to the industry.
What is DeckExpo? DeckExpo is the Premier Tradeshow for Pros in the Deck, Dock and Railing Industry. It is the Official Trade Show of NADRA. DeckExpo 2008 is set for March 4 - 6 in Orlando, Florida.
